NDAEB Annual Report 2019

2019 President’s Message As president of the NDAEB, 2019 has certainly been an eye opening and fantastic learning experience for me. Without the continued support and help from the CAO, Officers, Office staff & Board members, I would not have been able to do this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your guidance and wisdom to help me on this journey. This past year has been another very busy one. The NDAEB has been working together with CDAA to create and administer the National Occupational Analysis to help gain a better understanding as to what the future of Dental Assisting may bring us and help give some insight as to where the focus should be directed for standards in Dental Assisting in Canada. Over the upcoming year, working groups will be established to interpret this information & understand how the information relates to NDAEB. At our Annual Planning meeting in October, in Ottawa, we reviewed our current Strategic Plan. We have done a LOT of hard work on this. As we near the end of this Strategic plan, I am looking forward to what awaits us with the next one. Our team has been working hard to successfully bring the item bank in-house, as well as getting the preparation exam near completion. This was the first year operating under the new meeting format with the Annual Meeting of Members being held by video conference on May 29, 2019 and the Annual Board meeting was held in Ottawa October 3-5. This new approach to our annual meetings ran smoothly and will be the format we use for upcoming Annual meetings. I would like to thank Steve Grundy, CAO, Leslie Riva, Past President & Ronda Marr, Vice President as well as the office staff & all Board members once again for all of your support in helping me transition into President. I couldn't have done this without the support of each of you. Thank you " In a world where you can be anything, Be Kind" ~ Jennifer Dukes Lee Donna Rushton, RDA President
