Reminder: Two-Step Certificate Process Changes 1All Dental Assisting programs MUST receive CDAC accreditation by December 31, 2030 to maintain their eligibility to participate in NDAEB written examinations. Graduates from all non-accredited dental assisting programs after January 1, 2031 will not have automatic eligibility to participate in NDAEB testing. 2Effective January 1, 2026, ALL candidates who do not graduate from a program accredited by CDAC, or a grandfathered-in dental assisting program (1), must successfully complete the Clinical Practice Evaluation prior to writing the NDAEB Theory exam. (1) Graduates of existing registered non-accredited dental assisting programs who had their curriculum granted exam eligibility, will have their education honoured and will be exempted by the NDAEB from the CPE requirement for five years, ending December 31, 2030. Any and all CPE requirements will rest with the Canadian Dental Assisting Regulatory Authority (CDARA). Reminder: Free Preparation Test The NDAEB offers an on-line preparation practice test which consists of 75 multiple-choice questions and mirrors the test blueprint of the actual exam. Since January 1, 2024, the NDAEB is excited to continue offering the first preparation token for free, a valuable resource to enhance exam readiness. An additional two (2) tokens can be purchased by registered candidates via the Candidate Portal to further boost preparation. We believe this initiative will significantly aid candidates in preparing for the NDAEB written exam. In 2024, 88% of candidates who used our free prep test passed the Written Exam. Detailed instructions on accessing the free token and purchasing additional ones are available in the Written Exam Candidate Handbook. Page 3
