Candidate Handbook

© 1998 – 2025 National Dental Assisting Examining Board 9 Candidates must understand that if requesting a recorder for special accommodations, the recorder, the NDAEB and its agents assume no liability and are not responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the Written Examination and/or Clinical Practice Evaluation (CPE) results. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure their answers are recorded online according to the instructions given to the recorder. Be advised, at this time, accommodations for recorders and readers are only available at testing centers; recorders are not permitted with remote proctored exams. Requests for prayer time accommodations or alternate dates due to religious reasons must include original documentation signed by a religious leader confirming a candidate’s participation in designated prayer times and/or the inability to attend a scheduled examination or evaluation and include time(s) and/or date(s) required. When authorized by the Chief Administrative Officer/Registrar, NDAEB will accommodate requests for alternate examination dates. Note: The Chief Administrative Officer/Registrar reserves the right to request additional supporting documentation for all requests for accommodations and will assess requests on an individual basis and if deemed eligible may provide a reasonable accommodation, as appropriate. Accommodation(s) granted to a candidate will be valid for one examination or evaluation and are not automatically transferrable to subsequent examinations or evaluations. Candidates requiring a retake of an examination will be required to submit the Medical Accommodation Request Form and may be required to supply further supporting documentation. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they included with their application the Medical Accommodation Request Form. Candidates who fail to provide the required documentation, risk having their request(s) for accommodations unfulfilled or denied. Test Dates and Sites The NDAEB Examinations are scheduled four (4) times per year typically on the last week of March, June, September, and the second week in December. Examinations are administered in most major cities across Canada through our third-party testing provider. For a list of current testing locations, please visit our website: www.ndaeb.ca. Note: locations are limited and are subject to changes. Please visit the NDAEB website for a list of available exam dates and application deadlines. Candidates may be required to write the exam on an alternate date/or site due to site availability and/or testing accommodations. While the NDAEB makes every effort to ensure seating is available, we cannot guarantee your first-choice exam location will be available. In the event candidates are required to be scheduled at an alternate location, all efforts will be made to ensure sites are within a reasonable distance. Candidates may request an alternate exam site if they reside more than 250km from an established testing location. Note: it is at the discretion of the NDAEB to re-assign site locations and/or assign candidates to a remote proctored exam. Remote Proctored Exams In the event the NDAEB approves use for remote proctoring, this method of exam delivery will allow candidates to take their test at a remote location of their choosing while ensuring the integrity of the exam. Candidates are required to provide the environmental and technical requirements of this exam delivery method, and will be subject to
